Adrian Wagstaff

Director and Advanced Practice Physiotherapist
Adrian profile converted scaled
Adrian is originally from North Wales and was educated at a Welsh school in a small west Wales town (donโ€™t let the accent fool you!). He decided to became a physiotherapist after multiple experiences of injury rehab through years of Rugby – Literally almost every week!. Adrian realised how physiotherapists were uniquely placed in healthcare to be the experts in pain management, rehabilitation and movement therapy, meeting an unmet need to ensure patients recover fully from their illness or injury. He is a consultant musculoskeletal and menโ€™s health physiotherapist and he qualified in 2001 from Huddersfield University. He has worked for premier league football clubs (Manchester City and Wolves), the NHS and also worked in New Zealand. He set up Core Body Clinic in 2014 with clinics now in Swansea and Reading. He has a passion for understanding dysfunction and qualified from the university of east London having undergone a rigorous program of appreciation in diagnostic ultrasound. Ultrasound allows greater certainty in diagnosis and Adrian believes that enabling access in private practice reduces wait times and speeds up return to normal function or to the field of play. Adrian is uniquely qualified and is one of a handful of physiotherapists qualified to independently prescribe in private practice allowing him to offer a one-stop clinic for injections. He is trained to perform ultrasound guided injections, using both steroid and hyaluronic acid. Adrian is also a qualified male pelvic physiotherapist having been one of only a handful of physiotherapists to take an interest in this condition. Having worked in elite sport, Adrian recognised that the link between Musculoskeletal problems and pelvic/menโ€™s health conditions was missing with so many conditions overlapping. Adrian is a also a skilled manual therapist having qualified in Manual Therapy as a masters degree he uses this daily in his practice to provide an holistic approach when treating his patients. He also uses Shockwave for both tendinopathies and male pelvic pain/erectile dysfunction.
Outside of work Adrian has a family with three rising football and netball stars. He loves to travel, has a passion for skiing, cycling and watching Wales play rugby, and Manchester City football club (he was a supporter when they were poor!).
